Diseases we treat

Pruritis & Homoeopathy

Pruritus simply means itching. It may arise from dry skin, allergy, eczema, infection, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, or from no visible cause at all.

Common signs

  • Itching with or without a rash
  • Scratch marks, thickened or darkened skin
  • Itching worse at night or in warmth
  • Disturbed sleep and irritability

How homoeopathy approaches it

Rather than suppressing the symptom alone, a homoeopathic physician studies the whole person — the pattern of complaints, what makes them better or worse, general health, temperament and history — and selects a remedy that matches that individual picture. Treatment aims to raise the body’s own resistance so that relief is lasting and relapses become fewer. Where an internal cause is suspected, appropriate investigations are advised.
